Our Flag Means Death
What we're about to do will be perilous! Very perilous! Some of us won't be coming back. Others may be wounded. Still others may come back looking totally fine... but in reality, be mentally devastated by what they've witnessed.

PeachFlavoredRings - Why would you have kids?
Why would you have kids if you're not going to let them experience life, meet people, make friends, make mistakes, figure things out on their own, become independent, and have a life of their own? Why would you have kids if you're just going to make them raise each other? Why would you have kids if you're just going to take your frustrations out on them? Why would you have kids just to set them up for failure? Why would you have kids if you're not going to let them become adults?

Anonymous - Calling
These days I find myself searching for you in everything. Searching for you in the cold days. Searching for you in other people's faces. How come I can never find you? Where have you gone? Come back to me.

Doolset lyrics - Abyss - Jin (BTS)
With my breath held, I walk into my sea, I walk into it. I face myself who is crying beautifully and sorrowfully. Myself in that darkness - I'd like to go find him and tell him that I'd like to know more about you today, yeah.

Ya boi - A Certified Hood Classic
If you were two inches deep in your mom and your dad was two inches deep in you, would you move forward or backward to get out of this situation? Me personally, I'd move backward and I'd moan while I did it. My dad and I have never seen eye to eye. One might even go so far to say we hate each other. It's almost like we hardly know each other. However, there is one thing that I know for certain about my dad, he is a massive homophobe and I'll be damned before I pass on the chance to make him gay.

anushi - Travel in time through your notebook
Pick up your notebook and write a letter to yourself. Start writing with today's date and address the letter to either your past self or your future self. You can talk to your past self about a particular incident or a decision you made earlier. Or you could ask questions to your future self. Keep that notebook with you and as you grow up and change as a person. You can answer those letters your past self wrote to you in the same notebook. Do it. You won't regret it. It's magic.

Citizen - I'm sick of waiting
I don't give enough to take back what I own. My stories are told out of broken homes. I could be a bit better if I killed all these ghosts. I'm alone. I'll bleed from either side, and I won't tell anyone. Nowhere to hide, but I couldn't care at all. And I'm just a liar, who's tired of trying. I'll pick myself apart, 'cause I couldn't care at all.

Motionless in White - Werewolf
I could be up all night but I'm paralyzed when the creature comes alive. I don't want to feel. I could be honest. I could be human. I could become the silver bullet in your head. But you can't break my heart like I can.

Unknown - Facts
I walked over to you with confidence, with my head held high, but deep inside I wanted to cry. You completely wrecked my life but I can never let you know how much you hurt me because I don't want to give you the satisfaction. That's why I plaster on the smile and let the achievements in my life bring you down because you know that I'll always be a million times better than you.

The Sibley Field Guide to Birds of Western North America - Horned Lark
Common in expansive open areas with barren or only sparsely vegetated ground such as beaches, plowed fields, and edges of airport runways. Usually in flocks of up to hundreds, often mixed with longspurs or Snow Bunting. Feeds on seeds and insects gleaned from low vegetation or the ground. Size and color reminiscent of sparrows; note short-legged crouching posture, relatively brown plumage, bold face pattern with dark mask, and dark breast-band. In flight, note long wings and short square tail.

Malcolm X - By Any Means Necessary
We declare our right on this earth to be a human being, to be respected as a human being, to be given the rights of a human being in this society, on this Earth, in this day, which we intend to bring into existence by any means necessary.

Hubert Koundé - La Haine - It's Not How You Fall
Heard about the guy who fell off a skyscraper? On his way down past each floor, he kept saying to reassure himself: So far so good... so far so good... so far so good. How you fall doesn't matter. It's how you land!

Michael Parenti - Against Empire
The essence of capitalism is to turn nature into commodities and commodities into capital. The live green earth is transformed into dead gold bricks, with luxury items for the few and toxic slag heaps for the many. The glittering mansion overlooks a vast sprawl of shanty towns, wherein a desperate, demoralized humanity is kept in line with drugs, television, and armed force.

Rent The Musical - Over the Moon - Maureen
Last night, I had a dream. I found myself in a desert called Cyberland. It was hot, my canteen had sprung a leak and I was thirsty. Out of the abyss walked a cow - Elsie. She said, "I am forbidden to produce milk. In Cyberland we only drink Diet Coke." She said, "Only thing to do is jump over the moon."

Anonymous - No Love At First Sight
I do not believe in love at first sight. If you fall in love with someone as soon as you meet them. You don't know anything about them, so how do you know you love them? How do you know they are a good person? I believe that you have to get to know someone before you can declare that you love them.

Timothy - To the "Metacognition is overrated quote"
If you've been on this site often enough, you'll see a quote talking about how metacognition is overrated.. I have to say, I disagree with that notion is overrated. Sure if you give the analogy that we don't need to think about our own thoughts as much as we don't need to bite our teeth while we're trying to eat, metacognition sounds dumb. But I feel like in that thought process lacks nuance, metacognition is the tool that we use for reflection. It's what we use to learn from past mistakes.

Jackie - Is everyone depressed?
I honestly think everyone is depressed. Anytime I come on here just to waste time, I get very interesting quotes. Possibly, it might be time to look for help.

Matthew Stover - Love can Ignite the Stars
The dark is generous and it is patient and it always wins. But in the heart of its strength lies its weakness: one lone candle is enough to hold it back. Love is more than a candle. Love can ignite the stars.

Bojack Horseman - Downer Ending
And I don't... actually even care what the world thinks about me anymore. I just hated reading that book because I hated feeling like that's how you saw me. Because I guess you know me better than anybody, if you think that. Um, I-I guess my question is do you... do you think it's too late for me?
