Thinking about how precious time is can actually have the opposite effect you're going for. It makes you think about death, and how every minute is so important and needs to be cherished. So you start feeling intense pressure to use what little time you have left to do important things. But then you spend the next day just working, eating, sleeping, and pooping. And you realize how trapped in the mundane you really are. Hello depression my old friend.

Not only you can't enjoy every moment of your life; you shouldn't. What if your best friend just died? Should you be happy then? Enjoy the moment? That's not just impossible, but repugnant.

what are you talking about? you can't possibly enjoy literally every single moment -- you just can't. life's got to have its own ups and downs, and without downs there's no ups, you know that. folks, please do not go after an illusion; rather, do accept the inevitable downs and appreciate them as much as we do the ups.
