They have some of season 7 available on disc through netflix, so I'm getting caught up that way! I try to practice everyday...ish but I've got schoolwork and violin to practice - come summer I should be able to get back on top of things. I've gotten better recently - up to a 52 for best speed, passing 50 was pretty big. Concentrating on individual letters helps get rid of the mistakes which bring you down.

No, I'm not from England, although I did also miss an entire season of the show because I started watching it on Netflix and there was a gap. Luckily I have a friend who filled me in on basically everything that had happened and I was able to know what was going on when season 7 part II was airing. I'm fairly new to the show but I love it, although watching the show in real time with all of the gaps between seasons and episodes and all of that is really different from watching everything all at once on Netflix. But I'll get over it. Hopefully.

For a while I hit a road block where I didn't think I could type any faster, back when I was at 80 WPM, and I found that trying to focus more on hitting the right keys every single time rather than trying to type as quickly as possible helped some. Then again, progress is something that isn't all that quick, even when you practice a lot every day (I do around 50-ish quotes when I get around to coming to this site) and you seem to be only doing three or so quotes when you come on and that is when you come on this site because it seems you don't do that very often. It's a patience and diligent practice thing really, you just seem to be lacking the diligent practice part. Or you may simply not be finishing that many of your quotes (I'm looking at the bottom left part of your profile that shows your recent quotes).

I know where every key is, touch typing right now and I've looked at the hints/help and have improved a little bit- got up to 52 wpm but it was a really easy quote- no punctuation.

I tried the typerace awhile a go but found the highlighting of every word distracting, also as a kid I did a program and had the keys covered so I couldn't look even if I wanted to... I think I've hit a rode block, anymore tips would be nice

Are you from Britain??? I can only get to season 6 on netflix :( Nice to see another fan though!!!!!!

If you know where every key is at on the keyboard, I promise you the absolutely slowest you will go is 60 WPM. That is, if you know where all the keys are at. I also play the saxophone and piano so my hand eye coordination on top of my dexterity is somewhat above average, although I do believe that if anyone really pours themself into typing that they can do 90 without a problem.

But, since you are a Doctor Who fan, I have to ask, what did you think about the last episode? The whole evil doctor thing is going to be interesting to see, because you know this is the same person as the Doctor. So something REALLY bad has to happen for him to become evil. REALLY REALLY BAD. What do you think?

No, I just like typing. I started on typeracer.com but after a while of typing there I found that the racing aspect of the website rushed me and therefore slowed my overall WPM down. I also spent several years playing runescape as a kid and so even before the typeracer thing I had experience, so to say. Now I'm just honing my skills, and unless you have some sort of physical or mental hindrance you can most definitely go faster than 45 WPM. You must still be looking at the keyboard to type, and since practicing on your own doesn't seem to be doing it, you should go out and get some sort of program for typing and once you learn to start touch type, everything will start to go A LOT faster.

I got a new keyboard... I had a notebook and I kept hitting other keys and had to back space, got a mac and now I'm good. My typing speed has stayed the same... This is as fast as I'm gonna get. Trust me, I'm a doctor.

That's a lie. You said two days ago that nothing helped improve your typing speed because it has stayed the same but if you look your recent speed is 45 WPM and your old speed is 36 WPM. Not really "huge" or what you might have expected but you just keep it up and you'll get faster, I promise. I'm a doctor.

What really helped me improve my typing speed is... nothing its stayed the same
