Lewis V. Cummings - Alexander The Great

The record of the first two hundred years of the existence of the Macedonians as a nation is lost in the mists of antiquity, though we are told a pretty fable about it. Fables, however, need not concern us except to bear in mind that fables, in those days, were often accepted as fact, and it is axiomatic that fable is less important than truth, if the untruh is believed truth.

Somos tu y yo - Si tu no estás

Walt Whitman - When I head the learn'd Astronomer

[English] 2 jours, 19 heures by justarandom

When I heard the learn'd astronomer. When the proofs, the figures, were ranged in columns before me. When I was shown the charts and diagrams, to add, divide, and measure them. When I sitting heard the astronomer where he lectured with much applause in the lecture row. How soon unaccountable I became tired and sick, till rising and gliding out I wander'd off by myself, in the mystical moist night-air, and from time to time, looked up in perfect silence at the stars.

Typing can be a meditative experience. You're not worrying about what tomorrow is going to bring. You're not reminiscing about that embarrassing moment that happened to you in middle school. Instead, you're living in the present, focusing on typing these words before you.

Some people, were born to sit by a river. Some get struck by lightning. Some have an ear for music. Some are artists. Some swim. Some know buttons. Some know Shakespeare. Some are mothers. And some people, dance.

Alternatively, this integral can also be worked out by making substitution sin-1 x = θ and then integrating by parts will get the problem done in no time.

I sometimes ask myself - "What is wrong with people?" - But that just can drive a person crazy trying to figure that out. So, % am just asking - "What is wrong with me...?..." 'Nothing that just being my authentic self cannot overcome.' (and if not that - I'll 'go down in flames' - 'crash and burn' - or simply 'fall on my face' - But will do so as myself and at least be original.) *(Then I'll pick myself up, dust myself off, and have another go at it.).

[English] 5 jours, 17 heures by ironherald

In this grave hour, perhaps the most fateful in our history, I send to every household of my peoples, both at home and overseas, this message, spoken with the same depth of feeling for each one of you as if I were able to cross your threshold and speak to you myself. For the second time in the lives of most of us we are at war. Over and over again we have tried to find a peaceful way out of the differences between ourselves and those who are now our enemies. But it has been in vain.

¿Matarme? ¿Realmente sería lo correcto?

Oh, say can you see By the dawns early light What so proudly we hailed At the twilights last gleaming? Who's broad striped and bright stars Through the perilous fight O'er the ramparts we watched Were so gallantly streaming? And the rocket's red glare! The bombs bursting in air! Gave proof through the night That our flag was still there Oh, say does that star spangled banner yet wave O'er the land of the free And the home of the brave?

No matter how long we exist, we have our memories. Points in time which time itself cannot erase. Suffering may distort my backward glances, but even to suffering, some memories will yield nothing of their beauty or their splendor. Rather they remain as hard as gems.
