America's people do not even take the time to speak to their representatives, and yet it is a surprise to them whenever things are not done the way they wish them to be done. Is a governing body a democracy if the majority of the people do not participate?

- Punishment
If a man commits murder, what good is done by making him die as well? Murder is wrong because of the suffering it causes, but is there any less suffering caused when a murderer dies? A killer can and is just as likely to have family, friends, and loved ones that will miss him when he dies. Capital punishment is the epitome of mankind's hypocrisy.

- Alexander the Third of Macedon
I think it is wrong to call Alexander the Third of Macedon great. The fact that he is remembered as Alexander the Great is unnerving. He was great if your idea of greatness comprises of being a drunken megalomaniac responsible for the holocaust of countless people in an effort to aggregate as much land as possible for the sole purpose of calling it his own. I think it's important that he is not remembered as great in the same way it is important that Adolph Hitler is never remembered as great.

- The State of the Union
Only twelve percent of people in America realize the reality of crime in America. The reality is that crime is going down. Gun violence ending in death has gone down forty nine percent since 1993. Non-fatal crime has gone down by roughly seventy five percent since 1993. We have also become more aware of the bad things that happen around us, but this does not change the fact that things are actually getting better for the people of America.
