I get up and pace for about 5 minutes. Or maybe I start to actually do some work. But usually I just keep typing until my performance has degraded so much that I have to suddenly do one of those things.

SLOW IS FAST.

A quick glance at your hands to make sure you hit 'y' instead of 't' (for example) will often save you from typing 5 letters after that and then needed to wildly backspace, accidentally only go back 4, type again, crap, go back 5, type, mess up again, go back 2, type, fixed. It is moments like that which kill your speed. Avoid that like the plague despite how slow you might feel. 70wpm seems pretty slow to type if you have 100% accuracy.
