Recently Lost - Life is the Game
People take life too seriously. They say life is a game and you have to play to get ahead, but if life is a game shouldn't you play for fun? It's not like there's any way you can win at life, everyone dies eventually. There is a game that's like that. You can play it all you want but you can never win, and someone like me will come along to make you lose. You just lost the Game.

Ish Me - This is wack
The penalty system on this site is ridiculous. If I type one character wrong and don't realize it for a word or two, then the penalty will get added. Fair enough. What doesn't make sense is that one character will set me back ten to twenty words per minute. Last time it happened I was above ninety words per minute and got penalized down to seventy.

Healthy Body Positive - No One Told You
Someone probably told you that the way to lose weight is dieting and whole foods. That's a lie. What no one told you is that diet is literally everything you consume, not a program you follow. Some whole foods are high calorie, like avocados, and should only be eaten in moderation. If you're trying to lose weight, start by eating less calories than you burn. Worry about whether you're eating the right foods later. If you want to fail, stick with the fad diets, and fattening whole foods.

Ish Me - Accuracy Over Speed
I did not fully understand what people meant by, "Accuracy over speed," until I began to try the instant death mode on this site. Instead of giving you a penalty for mistakes, or letting you hit backspace to fix it, this mode ends the test immediately and counts the rest of the unfinished quote at 0 WPM. Even though I feel slower, focused on accuracy, I still get my best scores when I'm able to reach the end of a quote in this mode.

Ish Me - When I Was Young
In middle school I had to take keyboarding class. Back then, that class was a good break from the rest of the school day and I did very well. By the end of the semester my typing speed was consistently between 90-110 WPM. I didn't practice after that. As an adult, I could only type 50-60 WPM. After typing here occasionally for just two weeks, I'm already back up to 75-95 WPM again!

Ish Me - Is It Potential?
I don't know if you noticed, but there is a graph to the right that shows your typing speed over the course of the game. It seems to not be able to accurately portray your typing speed for the first few seconds, though. I consistently see it show that I started out at nearly 150 WPM, even though my average is usually between 75-85. I hope this isn't a glitch and one day my average will match my best few seconds and I hope the same for you.

Sanity - Leave me alone, Harry
I don't understand why so many quotes on here are from Harry Potter. It's a shame really. They're littered with quotation marks and made up words. To me, it's not a good reflection of typing skill to type one of those. Out of everything in pop culture, why that? I tried to read it once, got 3 chapters in and promptly dropped it. Terribly boring and uninspired.

Ish Me - Slow down
I've become exasperated by some of these quotes! Often constituted of long words and phrases or special, albeit necessary, special-characters. These annoyances may be beneficial though. Hear me out! Quotes like these force oneself to reduce their speed to prepare their next keypress. The result is a typist with a greater proficiency in accuracy. Eventually that effort will be compensated with even faster WPM! So, if you unfortunately come across one of these, don't hit "esc."! Instead practice!

Ish Me - Practice makes better
Practice will never make perfect, because perfection is impossible. Practice makes better, and the more you do it the better you will be. When you feel like giving up, push a little farther instead. Just a little, and then go take a break.
