- Pivots
I once heard someone say that the more pivots your life has, the more stable it is. But they cannot be people. That just makes SO much sense. People change. People disappoint. People leave. You can't control them. Make sure your pivots aren't people.

- Just chill
In the past when I was having a bad hair day or feeling insecure about my outfit, I would let that insecurity fully manifest itself: I'd slouch when I walk and act sheepish, etc. But one day I realized that no matter what I think is wrong with my look, slouching won't help (unless I'm very specifically trying to hide my boobs). So might as well act chill and stride along with confidence.

- The Ben Chang Speech (pt2)
We know he smells like Band-Aids. We know he dresses like a Cuban cab driver. We know he exhibits-nay! Flaunts, proudly, obvious symptoms of over half a dozen disorders you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy's pets. We know these things about Ben Chang, and so much more than we ever wanted to know about him. Why? Because it's there. It's on the surface. What you see may be what you don't want, but it's also what you get.

- The Ben Chang Speech (pt 1)
What do we know about Ben Chang? We know he's nuts. We know he's dangerous. Unpredictable. Selfish. We know he uses his name to make bad puns. When he talks, he over- and under-emphasizes words seemingly at random. When he eats, he holds his fork like a murderer's knife, gnawing at its skewered payload like a deranged woodland rodent.

- On Damage
Oh but we're not the same anymore. You made damage the moment you walked out the door that day. We can recover but we'll never be the same again. You know what they say about trust and what happens if you break it. Where there used to be complete trust there is now a little chunk of space where I make plans for myself. You pull something like this again and that space gets bigger. Eventually at some point there'll be nothing left between us.
