What really helped me improve my typing speed is my mechanical keyboard. Cherry MX Browns have a low key press force and actuate about halfway from the bottom, so you can type much faster.

Also, whenever my fingers get tired of typing, I power through it, but I usually never need a break because of getting up for snacks...
