| Hi! This is my Colemak account. My speed may fluctuate more than my main, as I do have long periods where I don't use colemak at all. I try to not quit. ^^ My first attempt at learning Colemak was actually around 2023. I've seen a lot of people on forums talk about the benefits of how Colemak is better than Qwerty, so of course, I wanted to give it a try. However at that time I didn't have much patience to really learn and consistently practice, and so I quit and reverted back to using qwerty only after a few days. Then in January 2025, I started to seriously consider learning Colemak again. I wasn't seeing much improvement with qwerty, and I noticed that typing for more than more than 2 minutes at a time was starting to hurt my fingers. Seeing the success stories a lot of other people have had with alternate keyboard layouts (shoutout to slow!), I decided to take on this challenge and try to learn Colemak. And wow, the first few days were absolutely painful! It felt like I had to relearn how to read English all over again. I even had a copy of the layout printed out besides me so that I can cheat and look at where the keys are. Then, on day three, I started to notice some improvements. I'm looking at my cheat sheet less and less, and my typing speed broke 20 wpm consistently! I'm genuinely amazed at how much I've improved. I started out at 12 wpm, and now I can semi-consistently type over 100 wpm. My accuracy is still not the best, but I hope one day I can reach my Qwerty speed of 130 wpm, which is my goal! Anyways, thanks for reading that wall of yaping, and I wish you the best in whatever you decide to embark on! ~ My qwerty accounts ~ https://keyhero.com/profile/hiramisu/ https://keyhero.com/profile/feuv [Monkeytype] https://monkeytype.com/profile/Fulmina [Keybr] https://www.keybr.com/profile/q3pg07n * pfp by _artizzy on insta :3 * >> PB Milestones << (mm/dd/yyyy) 10 WPM - 02/01/2025 20 WPM - 02/02/2025 30 WPM - 02/03/2025 40 WPM - 02/04/2025 50 WPM - 02/08/2025 60 WPM - 02/10/2025 70 WPM - 02/12/2025 80 WPM - 02/23/2025 90 WPM - 03/01/2025 100 WPM - 03/08/2025 110 WPM - 05/25/2025 120 WPM - 05/25/2025 130 WPM - 06/15/2025 140 WPM - 06/25/2025 |
