Text: Adam Sandler's first official acting performance was on The Cosby Show in 1987, where he plays Theo's friend, Smitty. He appears in four episodes, Dance Mania, The Locker Room, The Visit, and The Prom. His overall performance is decent for TV acting of the era. There isn't much on how he got the gig, but it opened the door for him to get into a lot of one episode acting gigs on shows like The Marshall Chronicles, ABC Afterschool Specials, The Larry Sanders Show and The Dog Police.
