Our belief - Christopher Hitchens

This quote was added by alansgirl1
Our belief is not a belief. Our principles are not a faith. We do not rely solely upon science and reason, because these are necessary rather than sufficient factors, but we distrust anything that goes against science or outrages reason. We may differ on many things, but what we respect is free inquiry, open mindedness, and the pursuit of ideas for their own sake.

No one is without presuppositions. Of the "4 horsemen", Hitchens, at least seemed to have an inkling of this. None of the others have a clue.

Psh' if only! Wish it were so. Intelligent design anyone? But that certainly doesn't outrage reason. And it is not respected as "free inquiry" because those "scientists" who are blinded to truth and facts are not open minded at all.
