on rap and hip-hop music - online source

This quote was added by weesin
In the past 20 years, rap and hip hop "artists" have gravitated toward the gangster or thug image to increase record sales. The corporate-driven music industry has perpetuated this movement with little regard for the eventual effect on its customers. Meanwhile, gang violence and drug trafficking is destroying the urban community.

To "user70345":

Maybe you should know what you're talking about before you post a stupid comment like this. I really don't think that I'm a moron or racist.....I'm a white woman who married and had children with a black man. This same black man will be the first to tell you that he is sickened by the thug mentality and misogyny that runs rampant in rap music. He grew up in the slums of detroit. He managed to avoid all gang activity, got himself out and became a cardiologist. He'll be the first to tell you that black people hold themselves down as much as the white man does today.

Get your head out of your ass you bleeding heart liberal

"Rampant poverty and chronic lack of opportunity based in decades of repressive and racist policy and legislation."

The exciting but wastrel Harlem crowd of hipsters beat the Booker T mastery of self, and self-edcuation types And the Marcus Garvey early FUBU types got themselves their own contries: Sierra Leone and Liberia. Neither of which did too well. And I haven't even mentioned Jamaica and Ska. In any case the opening quote of this my entry is from another user of this site posted less than one solar day ago. And it is sadsack, loser-ville, and nothing more than a endangering excuse.

Yes, cause it's rap and the music industry that're responsible for rap-listening consumer's gang affiliation and drug use, not the rampant poverty and chronic lack of opportunity based in decades of repressive and racist policy and legislation. Not to mention the fact that rap "artists" (could you be anymore blatantly derogatory?) are enjoyed by a far broader audience than the minority community this quote so clearly targets. Moron for writing it. Moron for posting it. Racism pure and simple.
