The end of each show - Fred Rogers

This quote was added by user758396
You always make each day such a special day. You know how - by just you being you. Only one person in the whole world like you. That's you; yourself. I'll be back next time. Bye, bye.

Good point Catrice - but I wouldn't bother trying to communicate or have an intelligent conversation with bvw. As you can see from the string of comments below, bvw is clearly unhinged. He will never provide a direct response that actually has anything to do with what you've said - he just starts rambling about non-related issues and avoids a direct conversation. And he'll always do anything he can to somehow bring his god into the conversation even it doesn't at all relate to the topic at hand.

The Greek gods were not strong personalities. In fact, some myths were basically retold with the same plot but about different gods, so interchangeable were they.

That's you yourself.

Mr. Rodgers's was part of a college based group in early childhood development out of Pittsburgh, another member of that cohort was Dr. Spock, the famous author of childhood development books. While Fred Rodger's show intended to teach his favored Presbyterian values, much like the "social justice" mindset what was to become the major Presbyterian value set going into the late 20th and early 21st Century, according to the late Roman calendars, he did so by emptying it of explicit references to God. And in that vaccuum, personality replaces God, as per the Greek model of "gods". All the Greek Gods were strong personalities. And so Fred McFeely Rodgers became, today a "god" personality in the pantheon of US Public TV.

Seriously bvw, you need to just stop. Your incessant, nonsensical ramblings don't amuse anyone. You just keep spouting nonsense. I guess this is how small minds amuse themselves

In a Sniper Battle between Mr. Rodgers and Captain Kangroo who would win? Where is THAT movie, with the Kardashian's guest starring as partisan fighers?

What the hell are you talking about now bvw? Your comment is completely idiotic. Do everyone a favour and stop subjecting others to your very special brand of lunacy

I does as wonder just how many WPM King Friday in the flesh could do? Or Fred, who is rumored to have been a deadly Marine sniper, every bullet engraved "See you next time" was, fingerwise, at WPM measure, allowing for windage, I mean.

and one more thing bvw - Mr Rogers did not "preen". He was not a media whore - he educated and inspired children. The Kardashian whores...they preen. Beyonce preens. I think you may need to look words up in a dictionary before you decide to misuse them all willy nilly

there is something seriously wrong with you bvw - you are taking things way too literally. He was just trying to say goodbye to the kids. Calm down man!!! By your way of 'thinking', anytime someone casually sees 'see you later' in parting, they think themselves a god? It seems as though you may have some form of autism in that you're unable to understand how everyday people connect and communicate with one another. You're unable to do anything but take things, painfully, literally. And in no way was he implying that your existence is contingent on his - I have no idea how you managed to warp his words in your head.

And enough with your 'god' talk already. Not everything is about your silly god. The one thing that you're correct about is that people do love to be fooled - seems like you were fooled into believing in your god. You swallowed the bait hook line and sinker

How arrogant! My existence is not contigent on his! So what if he is back or not, and whenever would that next time be? ??? What is he: God? Of course not! He's just a another man on a camera, preening and making himself a god. He has no control whatsoever on whether he will be back next time or not. God willing, he was back many many times, but that was just plain mercy on God's part. It was arrogant to presume he would be back, or that somehow, my being me, was tied (as it is by proximity of phrasing) to his willingness or unwillingness to be back next time. Geeesh ... now I know why I did not like show, nor understand what people saw in it.

What I understand now, as a 67 year old, is that people love to be fooled, and love great delusions that we can be in control of it.
