The Main Purpose of The Hunger Games -
The Hunger Games series deals with the kind of cruel entertainment our kids today are exposed to in reality shows, interactive games, and other dehumanizing aspects of technology and how the media manipulates reality for us. In one of the early scenes, Katniss and Gale are talking and he points out that if people would refuse to watch the games, they would be stopped. That's exactly the point- why would people want to watch? Why throughout history have people gathered to watch others be violent?
