It's so discouraging to be a teacher in this day and age. It truly is an act of martyrdom. We all have this romanticized, idealized image of a teacher, the ever-present and all-knowing keeper of knowledge, sitting serenely behind a desk with a well-organized stack of papers on one side and a gleaming red apple on the other. Lines of facts are printed on the board behind her with military precision. But that exists no more. That teacher is dead.
