Text: The eruption of Krakatoa, a volcano between two Indonesian islands, produced the loudest sound ever recorded. On August 26th, extremely violent explosions occurred on Krakatoa and a tower of black ash was propelled high into the air. The volcanic activity peaked the next day, and eruptions could be heard from as far as Australia.
