My tip to improve your typing speed is to use two different typing software programs online alternately. Further, your fingers also need enough rest and gaps in between the typing sessions. Finally, while you are typing, focus on the accuracy rather than the speed of your typing. Once you have good accuracy, increases in speed come naturally.

Hahaha dvorakdan. Also this author has only a 10wpm improvement over 600 games--I'm surprised he thinks this advice is meaningful.

My tip is try not to read and think about what you are typing while you type it. Having thoughts like "Why doesn't this guy make a case for the value of two softwares?" or "How much rest is enough? Shouldn't you be able to build up stamina for a given rate just as surely as you build speed or accuracy?" or even "Shouldn't that be sessions, with an s?" Thinking things like this will slow you down and lower your accuracy as well.
