Lately, I've noticed that sometimes whilst typing I am looking down at my keyboard. However, this isn't because I am unfamiliar with my keyboard and that I need to see where the keys are, rather it seems this is purely just a bad habit that stuck around from I was still learning how to type. I don't know how to overcome this habit but I will gladly report that I typed this without looking down at all.

Force yourself to never look down, no matter how much it will affect your typing speed. Your typing speed will eventually recover, and you will no longer look at your keyboard. If you need to, put tape over the keys so you can't see them.
