Hard work almost always leads to success. The only problem is that it might be someone else's success and not yours.

Too many successful people believe their success is the result of "hard work" alone. They do this because they want to take all the credit for their good fortune. In reality, although their hard work played a significant part, it is only one single component in a very complicated tapestry of factors all woven together. The book "Outliers" goes into this. Good read. Also... who tf wants to be famous? Would be a nightmare. There are much better ways to make money.

For example: Take a US Navy Seal who trains most of his life to become the most formidable soldier possible, who once drafted, gets one-tapped by some dude in sandals. Where's the pay-off there?
