video game console

Hi, initially I didn’t want to post a question here, but since this forum is used also for other than typing related topics, I’m going to ask it on this site…
So, which one is better PlayStation or Nintendo?
Highly appreciate your answer and recommendation! I agree that gaming requires a lot of investment, which is a reason I am trying to find something that suits me. From what I understand, avid gamers prefer PC over PS and Nintendo which is reasonable because of wider game variety and greater opportunity to play with others. But, taking account my “nomadic” lifestyle, PC gaming has a disadvantage as an enormous and unportable desktop. Additionally, (I am not sure) this same desktop over cost other two hardware(˶′◡‵˶)

Nintendo, in my personal opinion. As far as I'm concerned, PlayStation exclusives don't convince me enough to buy the game, and I don't like their decisions around cross-platform games. Most Xbox games are available on PC, and I currently think PC Gaming is the way to go... once the GPU market cools down. The Nintendo Switch games library is expensive, but great for on the go gaming, and playing with friends. At the end of the day though, it doesn't matter what you play on, we're all gamers in the end, and we shouldn't let our platforms divide us.

Thanks! I have almost no gaming experience, but plan to move into a line of gamers. Your answer gave practical inside and cleared up differences between them :)

There's no real answer to which is better. Each has its strengths and weaknesses. Anecdotally I have heard that Nintendo game servers are terrible, and it really depends what kind of games you are into. Mario fan? Go with Nintendo. Want to play Warzone with the boys? Ps4 is your best bet. Find a game you are interested in and go for it. Happy Gaming!

Thanks for your wishes and an objective view! Your answer led to equality between them in my rating. As a loner, I don’t think I will play with anyone. Also, since I am just familiarizing with gaming, I have no idea about popular video games. ❁⏑❁

If you want to get into gaming now. Playstation. If you are already into gaming and have nostalgia for it, maybe nintendo. But you'll get better hardware, and access to more games if you go playstation.

PC is always better lol ;)

I had a short history of gaming and, and that was a very long time ago. PC games are generally designed for Windows, which is obstacle for me. Other than that, PC seem a good alternative. In addition, thank you for shedding light on the issue from the other side! (◕ᴗ◕✿)

I personally prefer Nintendo because I am a casual, and most of my gaming is stuff like Mario Kart with friends. Play Station has some absolutely epic exclusive games, but nothing much in the way of couch co-op or casual games. But Play station has brought more of it's exclusives to PC, so it may be worth getting a gaming PC, especially with the increasing cost of gaming consoles without a major increase in performance.

Yes, this is definitely true. If you were to go the laptop route for portability, you would need to spend about 700-800 dollars which is about the price of the PS5 and the Switch combined. The PC also has the benefit of emulating basically any game from the PS3, Wii, and all that came before it, but these are somewhat downgraded experiences. Not to mention a PC is kind of complicated and I massively appreciate how plug-and-play game consoles are. Given your "Nomadic lifestyle" and that price is likely a factor, I would go with a switch since it has the best portability, price, and game library (in my entirely subjective opinion). You don't get access to all the cool new games due to the lack of performance, but there are still some great experiences to be had with BOTW and nearly every Mario game on the platform plus 20 bucks a year for the Nintendo switch online gives you access to a lot of the greatest NES and SNES games, if you're into that kind of thing. The Switch also has all the top indie games I can think of, which are most of the games I play anyway, not sure about you though.

Evident representation of how far removed I am from gaming is that I did not even know about laptops developed purely for gaming. I agree with you about laptops price and mobility, although they are also bulky (it is hard to call them LAP-tops). In case of switch, before getting know about games and consoles, my mind was set up for getting Nintendo. But, then my little research, present a wide variety of gaming devises, which confused me more. That is said, given all information I have gathered from the responses, I rank PC as # 1, Nintendo #2 and PlayStation #3 for now. Personally, though, I would still prefer switch due to advantages you listed. On the top of that, as I said, I have misery gaming experience (I played in Gameboy and PSP for short period of time, except for some computer games), so it is difficult to estimate the video games that I would like. BTW thanks for sharing with your subjective opinion and preference (◜▿◝)

I know I'm late but hey no problem. Funny thing is my PC is out of commision. Can't afford a new one and all I have rn is my switch xD.

I like the switch but it really lacks in performance. I notice it chugging quite often honestly.

BUT, pc framerates spoiled me ngl...

Thanks smokemifugottem! I also consider gamming PCs costly (because the price is high for entertainment purposes). But I want to experience the joy of killing couple of “bad guys” eventually, so I plan to start with switch and gradually move to PC.
P.S though, I am still in dilemma ⁍̴̆◡⁍̴̆

I feel it. Right now is not a great time to buy a computer. I don't think it will be for a while.

I say give it 4-5 years and things hopefully won't be so crazy in the PC market!
By lwoton - posted: 3 Jahre, 5 Monate vor

Agree! But hope it will take less than 5 years (ס_ס;;)

Supply should stabilise by Q1 2022. idk where you're pulling 4-5 years from, but that's absurd.
