Physical disability and Typing

Hi I have mild Cerebral Palsy, and it effects fine motor skills and mobility. I have difficulty typing because I do not do it the traditional touch typing method. I type with 3 fingers. I am trying not to look at the keys while I type, but it is a difficult habit to break! I have already increased my score from 24 WPM to my highest score was 33 WPM. Does anyone else have tips for not looking at the keyboard as you type? I noticed, I do about the same whether I am looking as I type or not. Some of my common mistakes are the keys that are right next to each other. R,T,Y V,B,c
well, sometimes i used to fidget with buttons and things, i suggest you improve your reaction time as that will help you press the keys faster. Can you tell me what fingers you can and can’t use?

You're doing fantastic just keep up the great work!!! :D

The more you type and the more you practice the better it will get 3 fingers or not.

Have a great and blessed day!!

Hi there! Already made progress? Sounds like you're off to a great start! I took a typing class a while ago but find myself struggling now, especially with side numbers.

Here are a few ideas (that I may try as well):
1. Print out the keys individually and try to put them together like a puzzle
2. Cut a shoe box in half and cover the keyboard while you practice
3. Take your time, close your eyes, and think it through. Our brains hold soo much information, those pesky few numbers are in there somewhere! Lol

My last tip is simple; practice, practice, practice. No doubt you'll be a typing wiz in no time!

Hope this helps
