Average WPM Calculation Approach
Von this - aktualisiert: 5 Jahre, 9 Monate vor - 3 messages
For most quotes, the average WPM listed is much higher than the median based on the score histogram. It looks like the average being used is the mean of the scores, rather than the median. To me, the median is much more informative, especially since the high-score is often an outlier. There are two approaches that I think would work better:
1. Just use the median
2. Calculate the mean time to complete the quote, and use its inverse as the average speed.
I am curious to hear what other people think.
Ha- I was reading my own average, and confusing it with the quote average. Never mind.

It would be helpful to post the median and the mean. That should not be difficult to do. For me, I have a high score outlier, but also have a few low score outliers.

Perhaps there should be two-three different lines for the wpm graphs, for each type of calculation.
