Programmable thermostats save you money. Well, they actually do - but only if you program them for savings. Many people mistakenly think that the computer-chip-driven electronic devices automatically calculate efficient temperatures. But they don't. You must program them to a lower the thermostat temperature - at night when you're asleep or during the day when you're at work, or whatever way fits into your schedule.
