Text: In addition to the eight planets there are several minor planets as Planetoids and Asteroids. They are more than 40,000 in number and mostly located between Mars and Jupiter. The diameter of the largest asteroid is only 770 km and the majority of them are much smaller. These asteroids also revolve around the Sun like the planets.
