Jobs for Fast Typists
Von userkeyboard - aktualisiert: 8 Jahre, 3 Monate vor - 6 messages
Sometimes I wonder, once I type at a certain speed can I use the skill to find a job by itself? Or would it just build on top of a job as an asset?
How fast you type will determine how far you go. Some jobs might want you to type 35-40 MPH and others want a higher speed.

Some jobs require a fast typist. Court stenographers, for example, and legal secretaries.
Other positions, mostly they're looking for someone comfortable around a keyboard, and more and more, comfortable around computers. They don't want someone who needs to hunt and peck, or uses one or two fingers to type. For those, they're usually comfortable with the average, of 40 to 50 WPM.
I would also say...while you're improving your typing speed, if you can, make yourself comfortable with Microsoft Office applications like Word, Excel, etc.

You would probably be okay for some jobs if you can type at least 30 to 35wpm.

If you have decent hearing you can find a lot of freelance transcription and captioning jobs.
