How to not try and expect what comes next?

I don't know how to explain it, but I'm kind of a language nerd, I see a block of text and my mind goes through things like, what word should be next, based on that who is it, and I think this slows me down as a typer. How do I push all of that out of my head and just focus on the words? If it were just random blocks of text, I would probably do a bunch better, but people don't type in random blocks of text. Even then I still try to find some sort of linguistic pattern and it kind of irritates me sometime.
You could try to look down at your fingers and type while you are typing see if that will help okay.

You could try typing with some music. That way you shift some of your focus off of the text you're typing. You should have enough muscle memory developed to be able to type the words without too much difficulty.

I agree, type with the radio or TV going in the background. I'm still only learning to touch type but I find that sometimes the less I concentrate on the overall paragraph and what it is about, the better I type.

Just think about how to spell words and nothing else.

There are other sites with just random words to type which could help you be more versatile a typist quicker, I sometimes feel the quotes have me anticipating words. One I have used quite alot is dvorak.nl

You could make it really fun and if you mess try again and you will get it next time
