Hi I'm Sophia and I would like to know how to type faster. Can you help? My mother is a teacher and she tries to help but I don't really listen.
Me too I love typing but i'm so slow that it's boring.

I am also trying to type faster and it seems like being accurate is more important than you might initially think. Once you reach 100 percent accuracy, then speed will only increase. At first I was focused on just being fast, and was making more mistakes (which means using that backspace button a lot). I noticed that if I slowed down just a little bit in order to not make any mistakes, my WPM has actually increased. I'm not an expert, but that is what I've noticed from running through so many of these tests.

Thank you! I think I must agree that that is a very good way to speed up as well as obtain accuracy. I am sorry that I have not responded, and that where I am it is 7:30.

If you can't touch-type yet, I'd highly suggest stop looking at your keys and rely on muscle memory. From there, focus on improving accuracy and then work on speed.

Hi Sophia,
Its Khalid
I am facing same problem. But only key to success is practice, practice and practice my dear. There is no shortcut in this way. First i exhausted but now you know what?
How much fun in it. Maybe slowness made you mad but steadiness brings the fruit.
Regards

1. Be conscious of the tension and the position of your wrist. Your wrist should be fully relaxed so that the fingers and your palms are not hindered by its tension, it's subtle. 2. Daily practice. If you skip even a day, you will go one step back. This is for sure. Good luck with your discipline and patience. If you do the above two, you will make regular progress 100% for sure.

One thing I noticed I found myself doing that secretly slowed me down was pausing for just a fraction of a second after each word. I started to try to read slightly ahead of where I was typing and found myself typing three or four little words in one burst unlike before!
If you want to practice little things, try typing common letter groups so that three letters can go almost as fast as one, ght, ing, ere, or small words like you, the, this, that, here, (you can see how ere helps with here, there, where, were) one, and, end (these also end many words). There are other combos that might be helpful, think as you type, what you see a lot, what you make mistakes on a lot.
While accuracy is important, and 100 percent is preferable, while you are working toward that, fixing mistakes quickly and not turning one error into five--the skill of resetting your hands and resuming error free word after word is always going to be useful, as you will sometimes make mistakes, likely always.
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, listen to your mother, she knows stuff, I am sure of it.

Hey wassup I learned by looking at the keys and using that mental image to find out where all the keys are. It helps that I have a good imagination too cuz it helps me form images in my mind well like my hands positioned on the keyboard.

Something that helps me is typing consistently, I will sometimes use a metronome to keep a steading rhythm while I'm typing. This way your typing is consistent rather than speeding up and then slowing down.

Hi Sophia, the best thing to do is learn where the keys are. That's how I've learned to increase my speed and also I don't have to look down at the keyboard...

Well maybe try listening and practice more

Hey you guys don't worry about the typing, remember, its not how you type, but its how fast your fingers are.

I can type 56 words per minute with the correct punctuation.

Hey guys i am getting mad i typing since last 3 months a little improvment i have seen its average of 33 wpm i m typing now....how can i increase it to 60
By vigilantvillian - posted: 7 Jahre, 11 Monate vor

My suggestion is to make sure you're touch typing (not looking at the keys at all). There are plenty of other websites that do more basic lessons that will help you get touch typing down by having you memorize a couple keys at first and adding more and more until you know the whole keyboard. That should help significantly.

I have no idea, if it makes you feel better Im at about 6 wpm.

You might try using a metronome, as it worked for me in developing a rhythm. I ensure my accuracy at lower speeds and then gradually increase the speed. You'll get to the point where your fingers will know where to go automatically.

Just keep typing. That helps a good bit.

Just focus on the material you type & try to memorise a little bit of sentence each time you read . It will be easier. Though, it worked out for me.
