Text: I'm pretty sure we've looked at Google maps and have wondered, why are northern countries so big? And the reality is that they are not as big as in Google Maps. This also happens on lots of other maps. For some reason, the more a plop of land is to the north maps make it seem bigger. But as you drag it down to the equator its real size is revealed.
