Hi!
I have seen book recommendation thread, from where I got an idea of the books to pick for next reading and decided to create movie thread, but you can recommend anything watchable (including shows, cartoons and anime). Any suggestions? ✖‿✖

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is a really good anime. It's only 50+ episodes so it's not a huge commitment. One of my favorites.

I just watched Manchurian Candidate for the first time. That one is a mind-bender.

Star-Trek: The Next Generation has been incredible so far.

Thanks jcas092! Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is also one of my favorite anime!
Manchurian Candidate - It has also Sinatra starring, that being said I will watch for sure.
Star-Trek: The Next Generation - The reference to this movie in pop culture has always grabbed my attention, apparently it’s time to watch…

Old Adultswim re-runs, Venture Bros. and Aqua Teen Hunger Force are my favorite. Maybe the Jackass movies too.

Oh, thanks! Sometimes, when I feel bored and down, I like to watch cartoons with vicious and ambiguous jokes. (´◑ω◐`)

That's a classic, Good stuff! There's something recent called "The Dudes Of Hazmat" on YT that reminds me of Sealab if you haven't seen it.

You'd think it'd air more seeing as it's almost the end of 2021, They're missing a good marathon opportunity.

Definitely missing a huge opportunity.. Shame they never did anything else quite like it again. It's a good idea, take the old scenes and resources from all those old Hanna Barbara kid's cartoons that they have the rights to and turn them into adult shows. Genius

I really like to watch cartoons addressed to adult audiences, although I like children’s cartoon a little more. But the design of these cartoons look unattractive and cheap. Ideas and plots are entertaining, but the drawings themselves are a disaster. I know that drawing the details is expensive and may not affect the storyline, but as a viewer, I would love to watch the same animated series in quality.

Thank you for critically deconstructing my favorite shows :'[

Thank you for taking the time to recommend these cartoons. Also, I didn't want to offend you. Instead, I pointed out the common disadvantage of all cartoons that are likely to be produced in the states. Unattractive design is one of the reasons why I value anime over cartoons. But still I like to watch animated series. Hopefully my previous answer doesn't stop you from continuing to participate in the future discussions. P.S I stared watching ATHF (ˊ•͈ ◡ •͈ˋ)

I know it's like a kids movie or whatever, but Surfs Up is literally so, idk, nice to watch? It's kinda nostalgic for me at least and they way it's filmed is so cool. Also the studio Ghibli film Ponyo is super chill and really good.

Adorable recommendations! (˶⸃ ⴰ⸃˶)♡ I have never heard of "Surfs Up" but, definitely gonna give a try. I enjoy watching Studio Ghibli anime, though my favorites are Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle.

it is! I watched a couple of short videos on YouTube. The show has the vibe of Adventure Time. ◕ ⦟ ◕৲

Man, I don't why I haven't thought pf this earlier, But Sven Goolie is one the greatest shows I've enjoyed! Goofy host with an obsession for rubber chickens adding effects and commentary to entertaining but tacky/corny black n' white movies, makes for a relaxing Friday night. Y'know what I just remembered Twilight Zone now, I'm on a roll.

I forgot to mention The Outer Limits! Gahhh
By owletto - posted: 2 years, 2 months ago

I have a weakness for weird (disgusting) horror movies or documentaries about criminals and psychopaths. Maybe I’ll like the recommended shows. As I understood Sven Goolie, The Outer Limits and The Twilight Zone are in the genre of mysticism and horror? Right? Unfortunately, I did not find a site where Sven Goolie ( and SeaLab2021 by the way )would be posted in the public domain. And which of the two "The Twilight Zone" did you recommend? 2019 version or 1959? Besides, currently start watching SpaceJail! hilarious cartoon, thanks (◉◞౪◟◉)

There’s this anime called Haikyuu, it’s one of my favourites
By gianttoenail99 - posted: 2 years, 2 months ago

Yeah, they'ev got horror and mysticism and interesting (If sometimes goofy) practical effects, and I can't help you there because I just watch 'em whenever they come on TV. I meant the older Twilight Zone, since I rememember all these show's being my father's favorite and him letting me watch it with him late night as a kiddo :). Glad you're ejoying Spacejail!

And another thing, as far as horror goes there's a SvenGoolie episode about a masked cultist summoning plagues to kill people, it's pretty whacky. Like swarms of white mice attacking a pilot mid-flight to crash him, and having locust/cricket appear in a women's bags in a hotel room to leave nothing but a skeleton the next day, Yipes. I dunno the name of the episode though, unfortunately. Or was it twilight zone?

Maybe sometime in the future I’ll take a look at SvenGoolie :-) Sadly I fished watching Spacejail! But funny shots and phrases stuck in my head forever. I watched one episode of "Twilight Zone” and was disappointed. I expected that someone would be devoured by these “martian scorpions”, at least his hysterical wide. But no! Though, I am glad the doggo survived unscathed (・ω・)

The Truman Show is my favorite movie. It's a drama! ;)
