On "talent" - Myself

This quote was added by crtfdcoolguy
It always makes me wince slightly when anyone claims that a musician, academic, poet, writer, etcetera is talented, and that their acclaim and success is due to some inherent skill, unattainable by the common man, woman or child. It's not. It never is. What matters is not your talent; but your skill. And by virtue of that, your passion to season this flavorless skill into the savory dish that is referred to as "talent." There is no barrier of entry for intellect of any flavor.
